Controller despatch software loves Vista (well almost)
We're always keen to ensure that your investment in our Controller despatch software remains 'future proof'. So, we're put a considerable time and effort into making sure Controller runs on Microsoft's new Vista operating system.
And the verdict? Yes it's thumbs up.
However, at the moment we (like many software developers) still recommend Microsoft's tried and tested XP Pro. If you're about to upgrade your computers, then we recommend that you ensure your new computers CAN run Vista (we recommend the Business edition), but actually have XP Pro installed for maximum reliability and enjoyment. Unless of course, you really want to learn a new operating system.
Improved Text Messaging from Controller
Text messaging is now available for bookings allocated during the edit process, or at booking time.We've also added an email (SMTP) configuration wizard to make it much easier for someone who is not a whiz with SMTP protocols, to set up emailing through Controller! On the latest version of Controller, just go to "System > Configuration > Email", and you'll be taken through everything necessary to set up emailing.
Of course you can still set up emailing manually, through the "Configuration" menu if you wish.

Adding and editing services is just so easy now.
Services are the core of any despatch software. When you take a booking, you need to specify a car/van/sameday/motorbike/chauffeur driver/any other service you provide, and know that the software will calculate how much to charge the customer and/or pay the driver. It is now amazingly easy to set up, or change these services in Controller. Don't take our word for it, download your free trial and see.

Ever wanted to put a booking on hold, while you deal with a more urgent booking?
Well now you can. We know how frustrating it can be to get involved with a long booking or quotation, and then see your switchboard light up. Now you can enable a setting in Controller, which allows you to put a booking on hold while you answer the phone to take another. Like all our features in can be turned on or off.
