We've been experimenting with new Searching Windows, and we'd really like to know whether we've got it right or not.
On the latest version of Controller, go to "System > Support > New Search". The changes to searching are as follows:-
There's now a free text search, which means you can search against any aspect of the job (who booked it/order number/destination...), anything about the customer (name/address/postcode...), anything about the driver (callsign/name...), anything about the vehicle used (model/colour/registration...)
There are now additional search criteria. For example, you can search for jobs to London, or those booked by Fred, or those carried by ANC, and so on
You can search for a day at a time, and use 'Prev' and 'Next' buttons to scroll to other dates
All bookings are now shown in the results window, this includes not just current jobs but those from history.
Development of the Search Window is ongoing, so we'd really like to know what you think, and if there is anything else you would like included. After all our Controller software is written for your courier, despatch (or dispatch for those in the USA), sameday, chauffeur or taxi company!
Incidentally; the original search window is still there and can be used if you don't like any of our 'improvements'.
Emailing booking confirmations / proof of deliveries, and texting driver
For sometime it's been possible to send emails to customers confirming their booking, and giving details of proof of delivery. In addition, it's been possible to text job details to drivers. This functionality depended on an additional program, written by us, and called V7Email. We've now integrated this functionality into Controller so that you do not have to run a different program.
Of course, if you're new to Controller, you won't notice any difference. However, it's further evidence of our continual commitment to make Controller the best despatch / dispatch software in the market.
A 'no print' flag now available on suppliers accounts
We've been listening to you again! We understand that when you're printing supplier statements, there are some suppliers you do not need or want a printed statement for e.g. an internal driver or overnight carrier. Rather that waste trees by printing a statement and then bining it, you can now set a flag in a suppliers account, which tells Controller not to print a statement for that supplier.
