Winter News

It's Christmas and we wanted to remind you that Courier Systems doesn't give out Christmas Cards - sorry!

Instead we donate our Christmas Card budget to our favourite charity, which is First Base We choose First Base because they do an amazing job, trying to help rough sleepers piece their lives back together, and also because we are always struck by First Base's business like approach. We really feel that every penny is wisely used.

Have a really Merry Christmas
and a prosperous, but more importantly,
a Happy New Year.

Pick lists

A 'pick list' is a list of options you can choose from - they can make data entry quicker. Pick lists are supported on all, the 6 reference fields on the booking screen. Controller will automatically store all values in the relevant picklist when a new booking is saved
For example: if the same person books jobs, you could use the pick list on the 'Booked By' (Bk'd by) field, to display a list of names previously entered in the Bk'd by field

To access the pick list, click on the dropdown arrow (hilighted) on the input field, and select from the displayed list.

Import regular addresses

Problem: An account has ceased trading, changed its name, and is now booking work again. I know we should make the account 'Dormant' and then create a new account. However there are a lot of history in the form of regular addresses, which we still need access to, this information is not available if we create a new account.

Solution: Make the old account Dormant, then create the new account. Open a booking window and proceed as if you are taking a booking for the new account, choose the 'Regular Address' dropdown for the pickup address, and select 'Import'. Enter the name of the now dormant account (or any account), and follow the prompts. This will import the regular addresses from an account' You can also import regular addresses from other accounts too...

Making accounts Active or Dormant

Problem: I have many accounts which are no longer active. When I take a booking or use Customers & Invoicing>List customers, they appear in the listing or selection. Making them dormant one by one is time consuming.

Solution: In Customers & Invoicing>List customer use multi-select (SHIFT + click or CTRL + click) to select more than one customer, then right click and choose 'Make Dormant' This will apply the dormant setting to all the selected accounts. Also works to make dormant accounts active.

Driver Status Reply system

Do you email job details to your drivers? If so, Controller can automatically include links at the bottom of the email (see below)

The driver can select any of these links (4 shown but you can have up to 10). Using these links will send an email back to a dedicated email address which can automatically update Controller
