Controller despatch software for courier, sameday, chauffeur, and taxi companies - getting started

This page is designed to get you started once you have downloaded and installed Controller. If you haven't downloaded Controller yet then go to the Download page. Don't worry about entering test data into Controller. We've included a paragraph below, telling you how to erase your test data, so you can start using Controller for real.

Logging in: Click on the Controller icon on your Desktop and enter your name and password. Initially this will be set to a name of "LETMEIN" and a password of "LETMEIN".(Show me).

Creating your accounts: The first task is to set up your customer accounts. You will need to gather your customers names and addresses and slowly create accounts for them in Controller. (Show me)

Creating your supplier accounts: Drivers and riders are known as "suppliers" in Controller. Again, you will need to gather your suppliers names and addresses and enter them into Controller. This also includes any other delivery companies who make deliveries on your behalf, as well as self-employed subcontractors. (Show me)

Creating your services: Every type of vehicle you offer to your customers must be entered, these are known as services. Examples are Bike, Car, Small Van, Large Van, Refrigerated Van, Estate, Bicycle and so on. You will need to enter a description, the rates per mile you charge your customer, and the percentage or rate per mile you pay your suppliers. (Show me)

Erasing your test data: To set erase your test data you will need to download a blank data set, save it on your hard drive, and then restore it to Controller. To obtain the blank database either 'Right-click' on this link and choose 'Save Target as', or click on it and follow the prompts. You will need to log on to Controller to restore this blank database. (Show me)

And Finally:The Wizards in Controller together with this page, are designed to help you enter basic information. This basic information may be all you need for the way you operate your business. However, Controller is very much more powerful than the basic set up. Controller has the facilities to calculate charges to clients or costs to suppliers in a myriad of different ways. Controller can have a Driver Activity (or Plotting) screen. Controller can automatically Email customers, or text drivers . There is so much more Controller can do.

We don't think there are many ways that a courier, sameday, chauffeur or taxi company does business; which we haven't come across.
