

New developments in Controller software this Spring

(Beta): Summary window
We are also reviewing another new feature - the Summary window.
The Summary window displays every booking you take or edit over a 24 period. Previously, if you took a booking, and then needed to find it for any reason (for example, to edit, unallocate, cancel, print, send by SMS or whatever), it could be time consuming - searching the despatch or search screens. Now all new or edited bookings are all in one place for easy access.
The Summary window will open automatically when you start Controller (it may be hidden behind your despatch or booking window on first use)
Use CTRL+S or Operation>Summary to display if you have closed it

You can configure your Summary screen by using System>Configuration>System Settings>Summary Screen.
Note: The summary screen only shows YOUR bookings, it does not show ALL bookings.
Overnight/International Pickup Request booking
If you offer overnight or international services to your customers, then the new 'Automatic Pickup Request' feature, may save you time. Traditionally, when an overnight/international consignment is booked into Controller, a 'pickup booking' is also booked. This 'pickup booking' is then used to collect the consignment, and return it to your office for further processing (input into an overnight or international carrier).
The new feature will automatically add a 'Pickup Request' booking, whenever an overnight/international service is booked.
To configure this new feature, select System>Configuration>Rates and Prices. Find your overnight/international service, double-click and select 'Automatic Pickup Request' at the bottom, then click Setup to configure how the Automatic Pickup Request is to work.

A verification routine has been added to help with the removal of corrupted data in the copy invoice or credit note file

We have had many requests for Controller to be able to print a despatch note automatically when allocating jobs to a drivers. If you do not want this feature, please use System>Configuration>System Settings>Despatch screen>Print Despatch Note on Job Allocation, to 'No'.
If you email despatch notes, you can use a format for printing, and a different format for emailing. Right-click on the job ticket (normally the yellow window) and select 'Docket Printing & Emailing' to select or change.

Comparison report
Now shows figures based on each customers turnover per period.You can now click on the customers name and see a list of jobs for the period in question
