Autumn 2009 news from Courier Systems
Windows 7
We've tested Controller on Windows 7(32bit), and are delighted to announce it is fully compatible.
Controller is constantly being upgraded and improved. Sometimes it's little tweeks or additions, which you might not even be aware of. Other times there are big steps which improve our clients' business operations immensely.
We at Courier Systems have always used economic downturns to concentrate on big improvements in our software. There is a saying that the word "crisis" when written in Chinese, is made from the Chinese symbol for "danger", combined with the Chinese symbol for "opportunity". According to Wikipedia ( if you're interested), it's a bit of a fallacy. That's a shame because we thinks the sentiment is right.
Anyway, we are steadily working on improving Controller so that when business picks up for our clients, we'll be there with a bigger and better Controller - if that's possible!

If you have upgraded your Sage accounting software to Sage 50 Accounts 2010 (version 16), there are some issues you need to be aware of before you do your next export/import from Controller.Firstly, when you import your accounts and transaction data, the new import wizard in Sage will only accept lowercase file names! The universally accepted standard filenames; SALES.CSV and TRANS.CSV will be rejected, they have to be converted to lowercase.
We have updated Controller so the export filenames are now lowercase - thank you Sage for that Gotcha.
Secondly, and you'll have to speak to Sage to help you out on this one, you have to map the import data fields to the Sage record fields before importing. We believe this is a one off task but it is beyond us to explain how to do this.
